Emmett's has been trading from its original site since 1820. In 1970, Emmett's was awarded a Royal Warrant by HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother for their sweet pickled hams. The store remained in the same family until May 2000, when Mark Thomas bought the business, which he has taken to its current position as one of Suffolk's world class food producers and suppliers. Emmett's is still a family business, and Mark is personally responsible for all of the processes that go into making Emmett's renowned cured ham and bacon. All of the meat is locally sourced and the curing and smoking take place on the premises.
Emmett's has always been in the same location in Peasenhall, one of Suffolk's most picturesque villages, close to Halesworth and Framlingham, and a few miles inland from the famous Suffolk coastal towns of Southwold, Dunwich and Aldeburgh. We are in the centre of the village on the A1120, a popular tourist route between Stowmarket and Yoxford, and also on the 6000 kilometre North Sea Cycle Route.
Emmett's is here to welcome visitors at all times of the year. You may be coming to watch birds at the RSPB Reserve at Minsmere, be attending a concert at the world-famous classical music venue at Snape Maltings Concert Hall or joining the thousands of music lovers at the annual Latitude Festival at nearby Henham Park.
