Established in 1997, Bordeaux Index has grown to become one of the leading global fine wine merchants with offices in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Los Angeles, as well as a rapidly growing international customer base. Our product offering covers all the traditional wine growing regions of Europe plus selected wines from outside Europe.
We aim to make the world of fine wine accessible to a broader audience, demystifying the process hence our strap line - Wine Selection Simplified. BI has promoted an unstuffy and innovative approach to selling fine wine for both consumption and investment. Each customer is assigned a personal account manager to look after all their requirements. On-line stock lists, daily offers, monthly newsletters and our blog, keep customers informed on an ongoing basis.
During 2009 BI introduced LiveTrade, the world's first on-line trading platform for fine wine with firm bid and offer prices available 24 hours a day. This service won us the "Innovator of the Year" award, at the 2009 International Wine Challenge
LiveTrade also produces an easy-to-read graph, ‘The Bordeaux Index’; this is a real time index that tracks live changes in the prices of the most liquidly traded wines on the LiveTrade market making screen. Rather than pricing monthly, our technology facilitates dynamic, daily updates and will allow users to monitor the market at their convenience. It's the most transparent, accurate and simple way of gauging the market performance of Bordeaux. For the first time, investors will no longer need to base their decisions upon monthly market movements. Just as importantly, it does not require a statistics degree for interpretation. Registered users are also able to view individual price graphs for all of the wines traded on LiveTrade with data going back to 1st Jan 2008.
This service helped us to win us the “Bordeaux Specialist” award in 2010, at the International Wine Challenge.
