Abbey Supply Company Ltd started in 1975 supplying silicone based lubricants for airgunners. The marvellous properties of silicone are now widely understood but back then no specialist lubricants were available causing airguns to 'diesel '. This is an explosion of the oil/air mix within the compression chamber. The resultant increase in power causing a rapid but uncontrolled exit of the pellet. The effect is dramatic but dangerous.
