The Abbeville
The Abbeville is owned by local boys Tom Peake, Mark Reynolds and Nick Fox. They also own two other pubs in Clapham, The Stonhouse and The Avalon, as well as The Bolingbroke in Battersea and The Tommyfield in Kennington and The Rosendale in West Dulwich.
Abbeville Village has a rich history. The area takes its name from Abbeville in France which was born when the Huguenots fled France and settled in the region in the sixteenth century. The numerous French street names in the area (Abbeville, Bonneville, Trouville etc) bear testament to this.
Abbeville Road lacked a pub until Tom, Mark and Nick transformed a local restaurant in 2002. The Abbeville has been a favourite with locals ever since.
