The original Bow Centre was opened 1984 as Westcountry Water Gardens, it was transferred to its current 3 acre site in February 2000 and re-named Fish & Garden Centre Bow.With parking for 50+ cars and access off the A3072 this is a popular destination for 'fish and plant people' from across the Westcountry.
We have a nursery on site (not open to public) for growing our own pond marginals and water lilies ensuring we can maintain a high standard. Bedding, bog and herbaceous plants are also grown in the thousands, again so we can control quality and choice. We also buy from selected UK nurseries to ensure we have as good a range as possible.
The aquatic side remains strong at this site with a large sales area and working display of water features, waterfalls and ponds. There is an extensive display (in season) of pond plants, pond fish and koi and over half over the 6000square feet building houses aquariums, pond equipment and tropical fish.
The rest of the building houses garden equipment and an area of interesting gift lines. There is also a pleasant coffee shop offering real homemade cakes and light lunches.
The outside garden area offers a wide range of plants with a good selection of acers, herbaceous and bog plants, including primulas. In season our sales tunnel is bursting with top quality bedding and patio plants, along with hanging baskets and planted tubs. Bow is 500ft above the sea level and in view of the highest point of Dartmoor so spring arrives a little late but our plants are truly hardy.
Sheds, trellis and fencing adjoin the sales area for composts, bark, gravel and slate along with a wide selection of pots. Bow is also the headquarters of the Bow Aquatic Centres and also houses the fish quarantine facilities.
