Need help with a disciplinary matter? Check the disciplinary procedure is being followed. You should receive paperwork that your employer is relying on before a disciplinary meeting so that you are able to go through the documents and prepare for the meeting. Take a work colleague or trade union representative with you to disciplinary and appeal meetings.
Been dismissed? You will usually need two years' service to be able to claim unfair dismissal. If you have less than two years' service you may be able to claim wrongful dismissal if your employer has not paid you notice pay. The exception is gross misconduct when employees are not entitled to notice pay.
