Stanton House was purchased in 1990 and the old manor house was converted from a private dwelling into a hotel (with the addition of a large extension). with considerable remodelling in Cotswold stone to match the original. The oldest part of the hotel was re-built in 1935 following a fire in 1932 and there have been previous buildings associated with the site for many years.
As part of the community we are active in working with Stanton Fitzwarren Parish Council,St. Leonard’s Church and support them whenever possible; in 2012 Stanton House Hotel hosted a Diamond Jubilee Party for Stanton Fitzwarren residents.
In October 2012 staff from the hotel ran the Swindon Half Marathon to raise funds and awareness for SANDS (Stillbirth and neonatal death charity). Swindon Sands are raising funds for 2 rooms at GWH in Swindon, to be converted in to a Bereavement Suite for families who are given the devastating news that they have lost their baby. These rooms will provide a comfortable and private environment for their entire stay at the hospital.
In April 2013 Iain & Richard both took part and completed the Paris Marathon to raise money for the “Get Kids Going” charity.
We will be running the Swindon Half Marathon on Sunday 13th October 2013
